Author Guidelines

TWO IMPORTANT ITEMS TO BEGIN

Do NOT submit any payment before you receive the page proofs of your accepted manuscript!

When you prepare your submission, please ensure that you enter information for all authors in the order they appear in the paper into the metadata screen. Correct submission of these metadata before your paper is published is critical so that the paper can be indexed properly and retrieved during Internet searches, and to ensure that all authors are credited with the publication.

SUBMISSION GUIDELINES AND FORMATTING INSTRUCTIONS

Please strictly adhere to the following instructions. Failure to do so is the primary cause for a delay in publication. Manuscripts that do not conform to journal style will be returned unreviewed to the authors for improvement.

Payment of Publication Fees

Payment is mandatory but only needs to occur after authors receive page proofs. The publication fee covers Open Access publication and typesetting costs, cannot be waived, and is calculated as follows: EUR 100.00 for the first five pages in final layout PLUS EUR 5.00 for each additional page PLUS EUR 10.00 for tables exceeding 25 rows and/or five columns. If a complex table extends beyond a single page, then the table fee increases to €20. If you are a member of the Societas Europaea Herpetologica (SEH), you are eligible to receive a discount on your fee, which will be reduced to EUR 50.00 for the first five pages. Please consider having one of the authors become an SEH member to obtain this benefit.

All fees will need to be paid via PayPal or via account transfer (in Europe). If you use PayPal, please identify your payment using the manuscript number in the optional “Add a note” area below the place where the amount is entered. Payment must be made in EUR to the e-mail address of the SEH Treasurer (seh.treasurer@googlemail.com). Paying from accounts within the Single Euro Payments Area (SEPA) is done using an IBAN. The IBAN for SEH is DE76 3806 0186 5041 1770 14 and identifies a bank account at the Volksbank Köln-Bonn. Please enter the manuscript number in the comment section.

Submit proof of your payment along with the corrected page proofs (and proof of SEH membership, if applicable) to us by following the instructions you receive with your proofs.
